Arkadia House to celebrate my momma!

Amidst the Eglinton Ave. E backdrop of big box stores à la Américaine is nestled a gem of a restaurant that sweeps you into the Mediterranean with its ambiance, service and of course, delicious food. At The Arkadia House (2007 Eglinton Ave. East at Birchmount) was teeming with families raising a glass to motherhood. Grilled Kalamari served with rice, potatoes and steamed vegetables was accompanied with a generous portion of greek salad with homemade dressing. My Moussaka was heavenly and rivals any Danforth Ave version. Our meal was pre-empted with a basket of sesame garlic loaf bread (the garlic butter already slathered on the slices) and a plate of black olives and pickle slices. Although we had no room for dessert, on previous occasions any of the many cake slices are generously portioned and a perfectly sweet ending to a well-served meal. Happy Mother's Day!
